Hi, I'm Nathan Park. Husband, father of four (Mina, Onyx, Kenzo, and Penelope, who visits every summer), and Air Force spouse to Natasha.
We're stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany. Managing a household with four kids, two demanding schedules, and a life that regularly moves countries is chaos without a shared system.
I built the Family Sync Board to solve that problem directly — it started as a school capstone project, but it's grown into the real tool our family actually runs on every day, not a demo.
How it works
Home is a jumping-off point — from there you get to whichever piece you actually need. It's built around a few pieces that work together:
Command Center
The screen that lives on the TV: a Today panel (recurring activities, anything dated for today, upcoming birthdays, daily reflection) on top of the Family Board — a Kanban board for anything with steps, where checking items off moves the card itself, nothing to drag.
Calendar
Its own page for adding, browsing, and deleting dated events — separate from the Command Center so managing the calendar doesn't crowd the TV view.
Meals & Groceries
A week of meals and the store list, side by side, so "what's for dinner" and "what do we need" live in one place.
Family Inbox
The floating bubble on every page — a running scratchpad for anything either of us wants to flag, from any device, no login beyond the family password.
Push notifications
Real notifications, a few times a day, summarizing what's still outstanding — so nothing quietly sits forgotten on the board.
Google Calendar
Dated items sync both ways with our shared Google Calendar, so they show up on our phones the normal way too.
